StartCon, owned by the company behind Freelancer.com, is the largest startup and growth conference in Australia with 3,500+ attendees, 150+ exhibitors, 60+ speakers, 600+ startups, and world-renowned speakers from some of the most prominent international tech companies.

We have a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get into event management. Someone who isn't afraid of taking initiative, getting their hands dirty and taking on responsibility. Your main objective will be to support our growing list of successful events under the StartCon brand; the StartCon conference itself, future startup conferences (both in and out of Australia), state-specific pitch competitions, and many more.

You will be joining a business that values attitude and capability over experience, so this represents an opportunity to accelerate your career, and deliver awesome events in the process. You'll be highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks, willing to research and recruit speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and affiliates - all the while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.


Requirements


  • Supporting the operations of events from start-to-finish (including managing on the day and scheduling)
  • Sourcing and vetting potential startups that can exhibit at StartCon
  • Coordinating requirements and maintaining relationships with sponsors & exhibitors
  • Organising operational aspects such as venue, hotel, catering, and other 3rd party vendors
  • Researching opportunities that will contribute to a positive ROI (ticket structure, workshops, customer engagement)
  • Coordinating speakers and workshops
