The Role

Our company has grown by bringing people together which has created an ambitious and passionate community of colleagues.  With this in mind, we are seeking a motivated and driven Category Development manager to join the team in Cider & Spirits. You will have the aptitude to think outside the square and have the ability to forge strong relationships to deliver required results.

As Category Development Manager you will be the subject matter expert about the Cider & Spirits categories across both on and off premise channels; recommending strategies & tactics to help our customers and the business achieve their objectives.

What you contribute

  • Deep understanding of current market dynamics, consumer/shopper trends; specific category segment/products; customer economic model. 
  • Leverage your knowledge / expertise to inform CUB’s commercial strategy, portfolio strategy, category plans & tactics.
  • Help position CUB as category thought leaders with external customers (eg: active participation in key customer meetings such as segment deep dives or  range reviews)
  • Develop generic customer facing sell stories for use by trade marketing / sales teams (eg: NPD or activation related)
  • Actively champion CUB’s Category Growth framework & how this can be leveraged to unlock growth for Total Liquor/Cider/Spirits.
  • Help to embed & enhance CUB’s category management tools & expertise.

Who you are

  • Sound experience within category management, trade marketing or key accounts with a preference for FMCG.
  • Comprehensive understanding of category management tools, resources and best in class capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically & take insight into action.
  • Ability to synthesise & leverage multiple data points / insights (shopper, consumer, category, product) to create strategies to unlock growth.
  • Experience influencing cross functional and multi-dimensional teams / business partnering.
  • Strong project management/leadership skills - with the ability to lead large and complex projects on their own.  Stakeholder groups in these projects are typically senior managers within CUB and within the Customer
