The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Senior Manager Customer Acquisition & Engagement will lead, develop and maintain the strategic direction for RMIT’s digital marketing and associated assets, driving profitable growth and improved cost outcomes. They will lead the customer Acquisition and Engagement team to drive unified and seamless student experience across the paid, owned and earned channels and stitch together the offsite and onsite student journey.

The role is responsible for increasing the demand and lead generation using the marketing mix of channels as to achieve the university targets across different segments and geographies and build longer term demand; reducing the barriers to conversion by providing best-in-class experience on RMIT’s digital assets and improving ROI on all marketing / acquisition investment by leveraging marketing channels and technology (martech).

As well as accountability for the RMIT website, search and content strategy and optimisation and the management and performance of key branded channels, the Assistant Director, Acquisition & Engagement Marketing will apply their knowledge and passion for digital marketing and web development to all areas of the business, building capability, driving consistent experiences and providing leadership and specialist support to key projects.

Key to this position is the ability to build strong relationships with other business units and manage senior stakeholders to enable the achievement of cross-functional solutions.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability in planning and implementing digital marketing strategy, aligned with the University strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a professional digital team in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Strong experience in leveraging the Adobe marketing stack platforms (target, Audience Manager and Campaign), for optimisation of customer journey across the value chain and boosting sales would be highly valued.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong content strategy capability.
  • Strong experience in search, display, remarketing, social, mobile and community development.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and lead cultural change whilst delivering against organisational goals and targets
  • Ability to consult and interact effectively with all levels of the organisation and develop strong business partnerships internally.
  • Proven ability to deliver financial uplift using customer centred digital marketing disciplines and deliver cost savings through optimization.
  • Significant experience managing projects and facilitating cross-functional working groups.
