Our client

Our client is a national body that provides executive level services predominantly to both state and federal goverment departments in Australia. They are highly regarded and have a positive work culture with a low turnover of staff. Under relatively new leadership comes opportunity, including the organisation's ambition to be more proactive with their government partners in an industry engagement capacity.

The role

This is a newly created role of Manager, Government Relations. To be successful in this role, you will identify and subsequently develop new relationships with government stakeholders from a variety of departments and agencies, with the objective of creating bespoke services and programs for them that will be of value. You will also nurture existing relationships to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. This is a relationship driven role, using business development and account management. This role will suit a public sector professional who is used to building relationship in complex environments.

Skills and experience

This role requires you to have:

• Public sector experience in a storng stakeholder engagement capacity
• The confidence to strategically build a partner network
• The ability to negotiate program delivery to timeframes
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work comfortably and effectively with executive stakeholders
• Project management skills and a positive attitude
