This local Council based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne is looking to engage an experienced Engagement Officer to assist implement a range of internal communications across Council. This assignment requires an immediate start and will be a part time opportunity. The team is welcoming, positive and collaborative – this role would suit someone with drive and passion.

Reporting to the Manager of People Culture and Safety the primary objective of role is to develop and implement communication projects. 

Key responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of the 2018 Employee Engagement Survey process and program
• Assist with preparation of reports, data and information in regards to employment engagement activities
• Ability to develop marketing and communication strategies and campaigns for a range of People & Culture programs including OHS
• Design, develop and manage internal newsletters across council
• Support the Manager of People and Culture with day to day HR requests

Key requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications or Human Resources
• Local Government experience would be advantageous
• Strong marketing and promotional skills
• Experience in production internal publications - e.g newsletters
• Exceptional communicator who possesses excellent written and verbal skills
• Forward thinking, enthusiastic and have the ability to multi-task in a busy and demanding environment
