An exceptional opportunity has arisen in our Policy & Advocacy department for a Campaigns & Strategy Manager who will develop and manage the implementation of issues-based advocacy strategies and campaigns whose impact will span areas such as Child Rights, Economic Development, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs, and Refugees & Aid. You will be an experienced advocacy campaigner and will work closely with our Senior Policy Advisors and the advocacy team to achieve shifts in policy or practice, over time, in line with World Vision’s political change agenda.

The Campaigns & Strategy Manager role has three primary responsibilities:

  • To develop and project manage implementation of issued-based Strategies and Campaign Plans for the Corporate Affairs team which will outline and guide the team’s advocacy on our priority policy issues
  • To work with the team to conceptualise campaign tactics and messaging that translate and tailor complex policy and advocacy recommendations so that we can effectively engage our target audiences
  • To develop strategies and plans that engage ‘key influencers’, such as business and church leaders in our policy change agenda, working closely with the Chief Advocate and his senior advisor, and other World Vision leaders and teams

To achieve these, you’ll need to harness and utilise the following talents:

  • Campaign and communications strategy design and project management expertise
  • Experience with external issue-based campaigning
  • The development of political campaign plans
  • Working in complex policy environments and converting strategies into tactical activity plans
  • Working with high-level networks and senior organisational leaders
  • High degree of communications skill (strategy, writing, delivery)
  • An understanding of integrating market research and insights into effective strategies

This is a permanent full-time position based at our head office in East Burwood, Melbourne.
