Our client, a large government department, currently require an experienced Public Affairs Officer to join their team on an initial 8 month contract. This role will be based in the Sydney CBD and will be paying approximately $61 per hour plus super.
The Role:
Promote the organisation’s reputation, services and resources through issues management, communication planning and delivery by providing direct media liaison and media enquiry services, specialist advice, information and support to enable business teams, specific program/project teams and staff at all levels of the organisation to interact effectively with the media and with stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies with a focus on stakeholder involvement.
- Demonstrable experience in the development of digital news content and a sound knowledge and experience in utilising social media channels
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contentious issues management, journalism and/or communication planning in an environmental context.
- Previous government experience.
- Available to start work immediately.
