Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania has two new part-time opportunities available. One in our new office in Hobart and the other in RFDS Tasmania’s Head Office in Launceston.

These exciting positions reflect the organisation’s expanded presence in Tasmania, and provide a great opportunity for the right candidates to join the Flying Doctor team in two newly designed roles. 

RFDS is a long standing and well-respected charity that provides primary care services to rural and remote areas of Tasmania. In addition to supporting the aeromedical service, RFDS has established successful Primary Care, Mental and Dental Health programs and expanded their Education program.

To be successful in this role you will possess enthusiasm, show commitment to the values of the organisation and a passion to make a difference and improve the health outcomes for rural and remote Tasmanians.

Your role as Fundraising, Marketing & Communications Officer will involve a broad range of responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to take the lead on projects based on your existing skill-set and interests, as well as learning new skills on the job.

You will be responsible for developing engaging content for a wide range of supporters which may include online (social media), print (newsletters, advertising) and other promotional support material as well as communications content such as speech notes and internal communications to engage RFDS staff.

Both roles will be required to represent RFDS by presenting to schools and local community groups, attending meetings with key stakeholders and ensuring brand presence at various events.

You will also work closely with RFDS Victoria to deliver on a newly developed fundraising strategy. 

This is a unique opportunity to work with a range of RFDS staff, including reporting directly to the CEO. You will gain an understanding of the need for ongoing funding from a variety of sources as well as working to increase brand awareness of RFDS in the broader community.

The Hobart based role will be required to attend some face to face meetings in Launceston, however contact will be mainly via phone or video conferencing.
