About ESTA
ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES. Its vision is to be a high-performing team trusted by the community and our partners to deliver the right emergency response. And its central goal is to save lives and prevent harm through speed and accuracy in emergency operations.
About the role
The Community Engagement Coordinator drives the day-to-day delivery of ESTA's community engagement and education activities, including via ESTA's website, and provides assistance and support to the Corporate Affairs Manager and others within the organisation around engagement and education initiatives.
The variety and challenge of this role will come from:
- Planning, delivering, measuring and reporting on ESTA's engagement and education activities
- Planning, implementing and evaluating ESTA's community engagement events, including the Junior Triple Zero Hero Awards
- Maintaining ESTA's internet and intranet presence through updating of materials, continuous improvement and identifying social media opportunities
- Acting as liaison contract point and helping to develop and deliver information and messaging to ensure the triple zero message is accessible and understood by diverse audiences across the community
- Developing and coordinating an ESTA volunteer speaker program
- Understanding ESTA OH&S policies and procedures, and be actively involved in minimising risks to health and safety, where reasonably practicable.
- Acting in accordance with ESTA values and behaviours, regularly undertaking a personal assessment and reflection against these.
You will have:
- 3+ years demonstrated experience working with community groups and co-ordination of community programs and skills in project management
- Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, personal presentation and demonstrable facilitation and liaison skills
- Ability to work to a high standard with limited supervision and within matrix-style arrangements
- Advanced computer skills including CMS, design, editing, and Microsoft Office
