Kangaroo Island Connect Pty Ltd runs a Ferry service between Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island and Hire Cars on Kangaroo Island and the mainland, 365 days per year (when weather conditions permitting).

About the role

The Marketing & Sales role is a full-time position to develop and implement a marketing strategy plan using digital marketing and network marketing channels.

The role includes managing the online booking system.

The role also involves direct contact with customers to assist with ferry & hire car bookings, website updating and other administration duties such as enquiries from customers through the kic website, email and phone.

Some weekend/public holiday working may be required occasionally

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing strategy planning & implementation via digital & network marketing channels
  • Facilitating bookings for ferry and hire cars 
  • Responding to client queries and providing quotes via phone and email
  • Providing website assistance to users
  • Assisting clients to organise their holidays on Kangaroo Island & Fleurieu Peninsula
  • Keeping a CRM system accurate with sales and customer information
  • Updating & troubleshooting the kic website
  • Liaise with staff at the kic Service Centres and ferry operation team
  • Other jobs that may arise - the work may not always be the specific role defined above

 

Skills and experience

  • Intermediate or higher level of MS Word, Excel and Outlook programs, ability to work on MS Publisher or similar publishing programs. Previous experience using Wordpress or website development is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and confident personality
  • Polite and cheerful telephone manner
  • Attention to detail and commitment to timely follow-up
  • Strong problem solving skills and adaptable to work on any tasks requested
  • Must be reliable, hardworking independently and as a team member
  • Minimum 1-2 years working experience. Office experience preferred
  • Excellent reading and writing capabilities in English
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic, good with numbers
  • Innovative & shows initiative
  • Must hold an Australian Driver's License
