12 month hourly rate contract located Southside. EL2 Communications & Events Manager. NV clearance desirable.

Your new company
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a large and well regarded federal government department located on the southside of Canberra for a 12 month hourly rate contract as the EL2 Communications & Events Manager, reporting directly to the National Manager.

Your new role
As the EL2 Communications & Events Manager you'll have overarching responsibility to provide high level leadership to your team as well as;

  • Developing communication strategies and documentation to report through to the National Manager
  • Provide strategic advice and briefings to Managers
  • Lead a team to produce all communication related material
  • Managing budgets, project and event plans
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes

You'll also be the lead Event Manager for an annual interactive event within a niche cyber specialist area of the market where you'll be responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the logistics of this in demand event that is designed to push the boundaries of critical thinking for technical staff within the APS.


What you'll need to succeed

You must have exceptionally high written and verbal communications skills, and be able to demonstrate thorough experience in developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.

You will have previous experience working at the executive level, managing an operations team, delivering integrated communications strategies, coordinating and managing large events and delivering strategic outcomes.

Formal tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Events or any other relevant field will be highly regarded.

Ideally you will also hold a current NV1 security clearance.
