About the Role:

As a Junior Trader role at STG you will learn all aspects of meat trading in international markets.  This is an entry level position that gives exposure to all functions of the International Trade process, with long term career progression and opportunities for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Developing accounts of suppliers and customers within a specified region.
• Work as part of the trading team, gathering and sharing market information.
• Liaising with shipping staff to ensure smooth completion of orders, including payment and delivery.
• Assist senior traders.
• General office administration duties.

• Well-developed interpersonal skills with high level written and verbal communication
• Commercial outlook
• Enthusiastic and driven to succeed
• Ability to work effectively autonomously as well as part of a team
• Ability to adhere to and follow instructions, discipline to follow up issues in a timely fashion
• Strong people skills and ability to develop relationships easily with key customers and suppliers
• Strong desire to learn international trade concepts and continually learn and grow

Requirements:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• Multi-lingual language skills and meat experience highly regarded
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Agricultural Science or a similar disciplines a decided advantage
