For nearly 30 years, Fernwood Fitness has been empowering Australian women to shine by providing them with all the support, expertise and encouragement they need to achieve their health and fitness goals – not only in our premium health clubs, but also across various print, digital and social media touchpoints.

 

As the marketing and events coordinator, you will be a vital part of the Fernwood team based at our national support office in Richmond. You will support in the day-to-day operation of not only the marketing department but also the wider office, and ensure that all Fernwood events run smoothly.

 

Your energy, can-do attitude and passion for health and fitness, along with your communication skills and attention to detail, will motivate you to produce high quality work and become an invaluable part of the marketing team.  

 

The role:

 

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, copying, ordering of office supplies and travel arrangements.
  • Field and handle all appropriate enquiries for the support office team.
  • Assist with project management and assume responsibility for the development and administration of specific projects via the Jira platform.
  • Work with the National Marketing Manager and National Operations Manager to ensure campaigns and other initiatives are developed and delivered on time. 
  • Assist in design and printing of marketing collateral i.e. flyers, brochures and presentations.
  • Assist in website updates and content administration.
  • Build strong internal/external relationships and coordinate marketing campaigns with suppliers as required.
  • Drive the coordination and delivery of all aspects of high-quality events which meet organisational needs (e.g. prepare and manage budgets, venue liaison, catering, audio-visual equipment, signage/collateral, on-site production and post-event details).
  • Plan meetings, trade shows and activations by identifying, assembling and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts and developing schedules and assignments.
  • Manage and monitor online social program platforms.
  • Work with the National Marketing Manager to service and profile partnerships where appropriate, including any in-kind partnerships associated with marketing and communication.
  • Manage online customer service and help desk enquiries.

 

Our ideal candidate:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or events management.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an entry level marketing or events role at a similar business.
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels in an informative, accurate and positive manner.
  • Highly developed written communication skills with the ability to maintain strong attention to detail and take pride in the quality of work produced.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and complete work within established deadlines, and to maintain a consistent level of professionalism.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative systems and procedures, and proficiency with office technology.
  • Strong commercial mindset with sound knowledge of customer behaviour and marketing principles.
  • An ability to work effectively within a busy team environment, and also to work unsupervised.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with accurate word processing and data entry skills.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Zendesk and Talkbox platforms preferred but not essential.
  • Genuine passion for health and fitness, and familiarity with the fitness industry.
