One in three Australians will need blood in their lifetime. At the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, we’re entrusted with collecting, processing and delivering this vital supply. We also provide a range of other services to the healthcare sector related to transplantation and immunogenetics, testing, consulting, education and research. The Brand & Creative Services team sets the strategic direction for the brand; provides brand advice and counsel to the business as well as design and copywriting services to the entire Blood Service, working closely with external suppliers such as print production houses, photographers and brand strategy consultants.

As the Junior Graphic Designer you will work within Brand guidelines to assist with creating design solutions, including design and production of artwork for print, press, digital & social media channels.  You’ll need to interpret briefs and take artistic direction from the Head Designer and mid-weight Designer. 

Your challenge will be to assist with the implementation of design solutions to internal and external stakeholders on all materials designed for and used by the Blood Service as well as producing and executing day-to-day business materials.

You will have:

• Tertiary Degree/qualifications in Communication Design, Visual Communication or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years (full-time) experience covering Digital and Print, preferably within a design or advertising agency
• Strong typographical, graphical and conceptual skills.
• Comprehensive skills in Adobe Creative Cloud suite, working with Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
• Experience in maintaining and adhering to brand guidelines

You will also be:

• An effective communicator who can demonstrate strong stakeholder relationship and management skills
• Highly organised to work on multiple streams with multiple clients in a fast paced corporate environment and meet deadlines
• Able to adapt design styles with strong attention to detail and have an ability to bring an existing creative campaign together.
• Advanced in the use and knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
