Your new company
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the local government sector with an organisation seeking an experienced communications officer to join their Communications team on an initial short term contract.
Your new role
You will be a communications all-rounder with a passion for writing and content. You will support the Media and Communications Coordinator with a range of tasks and produce high quality communications material for a variety of audiences across a diverse council electorate.
The Communications Officer will be required to assist in planning, coordination and implementation of effective communication strategies, including community engagement. You will be experienced in using web and social media platforms, have well developed organisational and project management skills, and finely tuned verbal communications and negotiation skills
You will be highly organised and have exceptional time management skills
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a team player who is willing to jump in and get involved in all aspects of communications, working collaboratively in a small team. You will take initiative and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
You will have a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, able to forge effective working relationships across departments.
A working knowledge of local government policies and procedures will be highly regarded.
