An exciting 12-month contract opportunity has been created in the new shared services model at the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
The purpose of this role is to assist the Digital Team Leader with the creation of highly-engaging digital marketing collateral - narrative and graphics - to grow the online presence of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and its agencies.
The Diocese has over 3,500 employees. Its agencies include the Catholic Schools Office, CatholicCare, St Nicholas Early Education, the Catholic Development Fund and DARA that provide pastoral educational, social welfare, and community development services.
The successful applicant for this role will work with the Digital Team Leader to:
- Plan strategic content across all social channels ensuring it is timely, engaging and carried out within budget where applicable
- Liaise with diocesan agencies to source content for websites and social media
- Create highly-engaging on-brand content
- Editing and proof-read content
- Adapt content to different brand voices in the creation of content
- Proactively engage with target audiences and influencers on social media
- Continually assess the digital communications processes and innovate where necessary
- Stay up-to-date on social media and digital trends
Required knowledge and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, journalism or relevant experience
- Tertiary qualification in digital communication, graphic design or similar qualifications
- Experience working with Adobe Creative suite
Other criteria
- Professional and creative writing skills
- A solid understanding of social media across all platforms including LinkedIn
- A good team player
This position will be on an initial contract of 12 months.
