About the Opportunity

This position will develop, implement and monitor a better practice engagement framework for the organisation to increase the quality of Council’s engagement with all stakeholders. This role will motivate, coach and lead staff in community engagement and create a culture of engagement.

This position reports to the Media Manager and works across all units of Council.

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in community and stakeholder engagement. You will hold an IAP2 Certificate and posses strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 15 of Council’s salary structure with a salary range of $1,495.10 to $1,719.34 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies.

Conditions of Employment: This is a fixed term, full time maternity relief position with the possibility of extension. This position will be initially located at Merrylands, however there is the possibility that you may be working across Merrylands and/or Auburn worksites.
