The Role

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll create and own the digital strategy that delivers critical marketing activities and ultimately drives business growth for the association.

You will be a pivotal team member within the AVA during the organisation’s digital transformation journey and will own the AVA’s growing digital footprint well into the future. As the go-to expert of digital marketing you will own our social media channels, developing campaigns to drive traffic and engagement. Your crucial role within the AVA means you work closely with different departments across the AVA’s national teams, so your ability to develop positive and collaborative working relationships will be a great asset. 

The AVA also conducts many events across different animal interest groups. Your role within this is to own the events marketing and work collaboratively with each group to drive awareness and registrations.

Primary responsibilities

  • Create and implement the digital marketing strategies across different areas of the business.
  • Monitor and measure the return-on-investment of digital marketing initiatives in terms of inquiries, leads, conversions and overall awareness in the digital channel.
  • Manage the direct report of Content Specialist with the development of the SEO strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with the major groups to create and implement events marketing plans.
  • Oversee and guide the content of 17 Facebook sites plus development and implementation of our National Facebook site.

Experience and skills, we are after?

  • Experienced digital marketer with excellent social media literacy.
  • A proven track record in delivering results based digital marketing programs and campaigns that drives current and new membership (SEM, SEO, social etc.) in a cost-efficient way.
  • Comfortable in challenging the status quo, developing new & alternative ideas, constantly ‘testing and learning’, seeking to continuously improve on best performance.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, the ability to get behind the numbers and identify what is driving the behaviours, what are the new and emerging trends.
  • Experience with social dashboards such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social, or a track record of co-ordinating digital content.
