Senior External Stakeholder Engagement Officer - Communications 

The primary purpose of the role is to develop and deliver a full range of effective communication and stakeholder engagement services and programs to ensure that external industry stakeholders have access to consistent, accurate, relevant and timely information on the Infrastructure & Services projects.

Key Accountabilities 

• Lead and develop corporate communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to assist in the effective management of information and engagement needs of the specified external clients and contacts
• Manage and implement systems, tools and protocols to track and coordinate reporting on key external stakeholder engagement activities across all specified programs and projects
• Provide strategic advice on the effective management of emerging communications and stakeholder issues to ensure concerns are resolved in a timely and effective manner by analysing reports and providing recommendations to senior management on ways to address key relationships and mitigate issues
• Manage media activities and ministerial and government relations for specified programs and projects in collaboration with the Customer Services Division to ensure accurate and timely information is provided.
• Assist the Change Communications Manager to design, develop and implement working relationships with external stakeholders to promote open communications and facilitate delivery of best practice stakeholder engagement initiatives

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. media, communications, public relations) and/or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in both written and digital communications
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to understand technical and complex information, and concisely translate for a diverse audience
• Strong time/priority management skills
• Previous government experience beneficial
