DIGITAL OFFICER 

An exciting 12-month contract opportunity has been created in the new shared services model at the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

The purpose of this role is to assist the Digital Team Leader with the creation of highly-engaging digital marketing collateral - narrative and graphics - to help in growing the online presence of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and its agencies.

The Diocese has over 3,500 employees. Its agencies include the Catholic Schools Office, CatholicCare, St Nicholas Early Education, the Catholic Development Fund and DARA that provide pastoral educational, social welfare, and community development services.

Please note: to be eligible for this position, you do not have to identify as Catholic, however an understanding of a faith-based culture is an asset.

The successful applicant for this role will work with the Digital Team Leader to:

  • develop and execute end-to-end SEM and social advertising strategies
  • deliver cohesive campaign communications
  • update and maintain websites
  • drive paid search and social advertising for the diocese and all diocesan agencies
  • manage paid search and social accounts to maximize keyword visibility and positive return on ad spend

The success applicant will also be required to:

  • develop weekly, monthly and campaign-completion reports
  • recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO position
  • track, report and analyse website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
  • work with diocesan agencies to source and create content for website and social channels

Required knowledge and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in content marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of Google AdWords, Google Analytics and Facebook Advertising
  • Experience in creating campaigns, custom audiences, ad set and advertisements in AdWords
  • Experience in managing advertising budgets and running multiple ad campaigns
  • Experience with the principles and practices of on-page and off-page SEO

This position will be on an initial contract of 12 months.
