Dementia Australia is the new voice of Alzheimer’s Australia, and the peak body representing the interests of people with dementia, their families and carers.
This position is based in our Corporate Communications department, reporting directly into the national General Manager for Communications. You will be responsible for raising the profile of Dementia Australia to position the peak body as the leading dementia experts in Australia and the voice of consumers.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic media and communications advice and support to GM and, when directed, to the CEO, the Board, Executive Team and senior colleagues.
- Play an active and collaborative role in the effective management, development and achievement of the organisation’s media and communications objectives and agreed priorities.
- Play a role in positioning Dementia Australia as the ‘go-to’ organisation for all things dementia and be: the trusted partner for people impacted; the respected advocate for consumers; the valued brand other organisations want to work with; and the leader in dementia education.
Key Selection Criteria:
- A qualification in media, communications or a related business field at tertiary level and related industry experience.
- Significant experience and demonstrated success in a senior media or communications role.
- Significant speech writing experience.
- Proficient ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- A proven ability to build productive relationships both throughout the organisation and with external contacts.
