Our client partners with utility providers through efficient practices and quality services, enabling project certainty and confidence.
Located in Melbourne, our client works predominantly in the telecommunications sector in both VIC Metro and Regional VIC. They facilitate the supply, installation, maintenance and management of Telecommunications network infrastructure projects providing a “turnkey” solutions. Our client has shown strong growth for the last 7 years and is continuing to grow and is moving to the next phase of its development.
Located in Metro Melbourne they service both VIC Metro and Regional VIC. They contract to large Tier 1 utility companies providing directional drilling services. Our client also provide pit and pipe civil construction, underground cable hauling and fibre splicing for the telecommunications sector.
We are looking for an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller to work as a Driller/Tracker or all-rounder within one of their crews.

Main tasks include:
  • Driving Heavy Vehicles
  • Operate Ditchwitch Directional Drills (30/20AT & 20/20)
  • Reading Dial before you dig plans
  • Excavation and drilling around services
  • Installation of bore pipes
  • A good understanding of the job or task at hand
  • General civil duties including pit n pipe, temporary and permanent break out and reinstatement when required
  • Rod, rope and prove work as required
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment, including keeping plant and equipment clean and tidy
  • Ensure all required in field documentation is completed accurately
  • A strong focus on efficiency and quality of work
  • Adhere to OH&S policies and procedures and OH&S Standards
  • Adhere to Environmental policies and procedures and Environmental Standards
  • Able to follow instructions
Successful candidates will be / have:
  • White Card
  • HR Truck Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current and valid Victorian driver licence
  • Sound verbal and written skills / A good listener 
  • Good work ethic
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Experience operating a Directional Drill (with rock capabilities) and track heads
  • Attention to detail
  • Be multi skilled
  • Team Player
Desirable but not essential - skills and certificates
  • NBN enAble Certificate
  • "B" Class Asbestos Removal Ticket
Hourly pay rate dependent on experience and knowledge.
Hours of work from 6am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with the need to work outside these hours when required.
