About the business and the role
At FKI Cabinets we design, build and install custom made joinery. We are known to work with commercial and domestic sites and have a professional and experienced team that can help you grow your own set of skills and knowledge in this faced paced industry. We are seeking an Apprentice that shows drive, motivation in developing their own career, who wants to grow and learn with the company and adapt to our procedures.
Job tasks and responsibilities
As an Apprentice your key responsibilities are
Make and install cabinets/joinery at a high quality standard
Ensure all FKI Cabinet procedures are adhered to
Ensure tools and materials required for each job are accounted for and placed in the vehicle prior to leaving the factory or on site
Evaluate the work area on site and set up your work station in a safe and appropriate space
Ensure the work area is kept as clean as possible
Work with a positive "can do" attitude and high level of professionalism (particularly when working with the general public)
Champion and comply to FKI Cabinets policies and procedures
Show initiative and make suggestions to process improvements.
Keep learning and developing your skills and ask questions of your peers in order to mature and advance in the trade
Identify potential setbacks or problems which could or have arisen on projects as soon as possible and notify the Project and Sales Manager OR Lead Tradesman so a solution can be set into place.
Health and Safety
Ensure the health and wellbeing of yourself and your peers at all times, by following procedures set out by FKI Cabinets and by Worksafe Australia.
Ensure protective clothing is worn everyday (For example: Hard Boots)
Ensure protective equipment is worn when working with specific power tools and machinery.
Skills and experience
The skills that we require of you are:
- Completion of year 10 high school certificate
- Manual drivers license
- Own car
- White card
- Own tools
- Safe work gear (eg hard boots)
