The Zebra Group is currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our join our highly skilled and qualified mechanical maintenance team based in Gracemere, QLD. This position is responsible for servicing and maintaining a fleet of 13 Hitachi excavators, 6 road trains and ancillary equipment.
Safety is of the utmost importance at the Zebra Group and the successful applicant must have an extremely high focus on safety and be demonstrating this at all time.
The Role:
- Maintenance and repair of varied electrical systems on a diverse range of plant equipment and heavy vehicles.
- Mechanical maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles and plant/heavy earth moving equipment.
- Maintain regular preventative maintenance checks and update documentation.
- General maintenance identification and execution on vehicles and equipment on a regular basis.
- Respond to and repair breakdowns.
- Testing, repairing and/or replacing defective systems or parts.
- Battery storage, handling and maintenance.
- General Yard Duties
Essential Requirements:
- Experience on Heavy Vehicles and Earth Moving Equipment
- Be able to Pass Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
- Current Drivers Licence
Desirable Requirements for all roles:
- Trade Qualification in a Mechanical field
- HR Drivers Licence
- Excavator Ticket (OH&S and/or RII)
- Forklift Ticket
To be successful in this role you will be mechanically minded and will have extensive experience working on large mobile plant and heavy vehicles. You will be hard working with a strong work ethic and excellent quality of work.
