Our client is a Multi-National company that provides services throughout the Melbourne Metropolitan Area (predominantly SE & Western Suburbs) and to some areas of regional Victoria. They contract direct to the main Melbourne water boards and to large Tier 1 companies and provide water and waste water construction and maintenance services such as pipe laying, manhole and pump station construction, water and sewer defects and maintenance repairs etc.
As a result of continued growth, they are now seeking to engage several highly motivated, experienced and energetic Pipe Layers to join their growing and professional team. Located in Pakenham, you will work on the new housing subdivisions.
You will be responsible for getting into the trenches and laying pipe. Our client is willing to take on and train labourers - just bring the right attitude! You must be prepared to work long hours digging, being flexible to help the team in any way required and taking instruction.
General working hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm, often you will do an hour or so of overtime each day along with the odd Saturday shift.
Scope of Duties to be performed include and are not limited to:
- Work under strict OH&S conditions
- Performing daily maintenance and safety checks;
- Reading Dial Before You Dig plans;
- Service locating
- Laying pipe
- Digging trenches, installing shields
To be considered for these roles, applicants must satisfy the following key selection criteria:
- Construction Industry Card (White card)
- Two years Experience in civil construction - Ideal
- Physically fit, Reliable and punctual
- Attention to detail
- Good work ethic
- Self-motivated
- Work in autonomously and in a team environment
On offer to attract strong candidates is an attractive hourly rate of $33:60 with daily travel of $26:17, daily industry allowance of $4:37, plenty of overtime hours available at full penalty rates + Superannuation and Co-Invest. These roles will commence on our books as casual positions working full-time hours and based on performance will then migrate to our client as permanent employees after 3 to 6 months.
