Location

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland.  The resort comprises  295 guest rooms, suites and villas.

 

Department

We are currently seeking a Head Pastry Chef and a Pastry Chef de Partie who are skilled, energetic and disciplined.   Strong leaders who have a great passion for developing young talent.  The positions report directly to the Executive Chef.

About the role

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Provide training for new and existing associates in the required skills and knowledge
  • Assist in the preparation of rosters, menu planning  and standard operating procedures
  • Undertake and supervise daily food preparation in anticipation and response of service requirement.
  • Be totally involved in the hotel's operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel

Skills and experience

The successful candidates will be:

  • Trade Qualified
  • Talented and creative
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Team Player
  • True desire to succeed in this profession
  • Previous 5 Star Experience in a larger kitchen brigade is highly regarded
  • The ability to work rotating shifts across 7 days.
  • Creative talent and ability to create amazing chocolate work, breads and other baked goods.
  • Ability to stay ahead of industry trends
  • Foster a learning environment where associates take pride
  • Preferred applicants will have valid working rights to work in Australia.  Sponsorship will not be available for this position
