Hard Metal Industries (HMI) commenced operations in Australia in 1999 and focus on serving the piling/ Foundation, Mining & Tunnelling, Trenching, HDD, Wear Protection and Drilling industries.
HMI are at the forefront of their industry through their provision of specialised tooling including prototype engineering, development of new tools and manufacture of one off tools. We have recently invested in 3D printing as means to assist in prototyping.

About the Role:
The HMI Team is EXPANDING – so we need more people to join the TEAM!!!
We have opportunities for BOTH an Experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Machinist and a Milling programmer/machinist.
You will have the OPPORTUNITY to:
- Work with 6 CNC machines – 3 lathes and 3 mills(4 axis and 3+2 Axis) – with a new Large Bore Lathe Installed earlier this year. Fanuc and Haas controllers
- CAM- Mastercam 20193D
- Design/models are prepared in house in NX version 11/12.
We’re looking for people who want long-term stability and to build a career.
EXPERIENCED CNC Machinist Skills and Attributes:
- Trade qualified preferred.
- Previous experience in a machining operation is ESSENTIAL.
- Proficient in programming a variety of CNC Lathes and mills. Fanuc and Haas controllers
- Knowledge of Taper Threading advantageous.
- Knowledge of Mastercam advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to understand material, tooling and equipment requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilising measuring instruments.
- A demonstrated exceptional attendance record is ESSENTIAL.
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
- Strong team focus with ability to also work autonomously.

- A Full-Time PERMANENT role.
- Work Monday to Friday - Overtime is kept to week days…..NOT Saturdays!!
- A competitive salary depending on experience & qualifications including 10% superannuation and overtime rates.
