UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd (UGL Unipart) was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart operates a Rail Maintenance Facility at Auburn where it maintains rolling stock for Sydney Trains, Transport for New South Wales and other rail operators.
The UGL Unipart TTU team is seeking a Technical Quality Advisor (Electrical) to be responsible for the conduct of all inspections of TTU product. This includes acceptance of product installed and commissioned, whilst developing and effectively delivering agreed quality services and driving continuous improvement.
This is a perfect opportunity for an individual with strong hands on Electrical maintenance experience to further develop their career into Quality advising and inspecting role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure final product complies with all standards and specifications developed, including the final approval of the consist.
- Work with Operation team to ensure all Quality requirements are fully understood and carried out
- Communication of changed process documentation to stakeholders and to ensure planned introduction across all locations
- Responsible for the implementation and delivery of the quality improvement strategy
- Determine and advise on quality requirements to support internal maintenance operations and the supplier evaluation process
- Lead investigation of product and service failures and assist in determining positive resolution of internal and customer issues
- Undertake process and product audits and investigations as required and prepare and publish reports to business managers
- Work with the Quality Supply Specialist to assure the quality of supplied goods and services through effective levels of planning, supplier development and review and improvement activities
Qualification and Education requirements
- Electrical Trade Qualification
- Previous experience in quality advising and inspecting function in a maintenance or engineering environment
- A strong understanding of quality management system requirements and knowledge of quality management principles and quality assurance practices
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written along with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access and Email.
- Experience using SAP would be highly regarded
