The primary focus of the Technical Services Officer is to provide professional and effective technical support to my Client's Service Technicians, sub-contractors and select end-user customers. This role would suite someone who is an excellent communicator with experience in fault-finding electrical equipment, likely from an electrical trade or electrical engineering background. Ideally you are looking for less physically demanding work (as this is an office-based role) or an opportunity to develop new skills-sets.

Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear, concise and professional technical support and advice to the company's technicians, sub-contractors and customers, as well as to the sales and spare parts teams on occasion
  • Assisting service providers with fault diagnostics and trouble shooting over the phone
  • Analysing and rectifying customer concerns/issues using established company procedures
  • Conversing with customers over the phone, via email and in person (where appropriate) in order to provide information about products and services
  • Keeping records of customer interactions

Other secondary responsibilities:

  • Attend training provided by suppliers
  • Develop and present technical training to Technicians, Customers and Sub-contractors
  • Provide support to team members developing and delivering training
  • Assisting with obtaining information from suppliers regarding parts and technical information
  • Provide feedback to suppliers on material defect reports (MDRs)

Profile

This role would suite someone who is an excellent communicator with experience in fault-finding electrical equipment, likely from an electrical trade or electrical engineering backgrounds. Ideally you are looking for less physically demanding work (as this is an office-based role) or an opportunity to develop new skills-sets.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

  • 5+ years experience working "hands-on" with electrical, refrigeration or other gas devices
  • Current (or lapsed) electrical or gas licenses, or electrical engineering degree/certificates will be highly regarded
  • Understanding of regulatory environment relating to installing, altering, repairing, servicing and testing electrical and/or gas equipment - also highly regarded
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams
  • Demonstrable experience in electrical fault-finding and trouble shooting
  • Enjoy supporting others with a customer-centric mentality
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with a professional phone manner
  • Patience and resilience is essential
  • Able to use initiative to solve problems
  • Computer literacy, ability to learn new systems (online catalogues, manuals, databases)
