The Opportunity
An exciting career opportunity is now available for a Resident Field Service Technician (HD Diesel Fitter) to join the Service Department of our Mudgee branch. This is a residential role based in the town of Bathurst NSW and will report directly to the Mudgee Branch Service Supervisor. You would be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on mobile plant equipment and ensuring excellent customer service is provided through-out the Central West Region. The role is responsible for machine diagnostics as well as the testing and adjusting of machine operation and monitoring systems. Additionally, you would be coordinating equipment maintenance projects. The role will also involve generating technical reports such as service reports, TSI & warranty claim processes. You will also be offered further training on Komatsu machines in the use of diagnostic procedures, machine software systems and online diagnostic tools.
 
The knowledge, skills and abilities we're looking for
  • Relevant Trade Certificate - Mobile Plant Mechanic (HD Diesel Fitter - Earthmoving/Heavy Transport)
  • Current MR classification driver's licence (minimum requirements for field service)
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the design & function of Komatsu mining & civil equipment
  • Field service / breakdown / diagnostics experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised and remotely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of computer systems
  • Air-con and Auto Electrical experience, qualifications and diagnostic skills will be highly regarded
  • Able to pass a Coal Board Order 41 Medical and prepared to work on customer sites
  • High level of motivation; able to manage your own tasks and plan work schedules to suit local customers
