Vehicle Mechanic

We currently have an excellent opportunity available to be part of the success of the Thrifty business and its subsidiary, Aus Mechanical Services throughout Western Australia. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role will see you responsible for the performance and maintenance of the Thrifty WA fleet.

This role is NOT a FIFO role and will require the candidate to be based in Karratha. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Pre-Employment medical to include Drug and Alcohol testing.

This position will be responsible for;

• Diagnosing faults and completion of servicing and repairs
• Service and repairs of cars, commercials and light trucks
• Breakdown assistance
• Repairing and replacing of windscreens
• Tyre fitting and wheel balancing  
• Management of external suppliers
• Scheduling jobs and creating job cards
• Invoicing jobs  and maintaining appropriate stock levels

You will also need to possess the following:

• Automotive Technician Qualification (Trade Certificate)
• Motor Vehicle Repairer's Certificate (Preferred)
• Air conditioning Ticket (Preferred)
• Basic computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Unrestricted manual drivers' license (MR license preferred)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with local suppliers and clients
