Diesel mechanic / Mechanical Fitter wanted

Permanent fulltime role!!

Kelly Services has been staffing Australia for more than 20 years, offering recruitment services in temporary, contract and permanent roles in a wide range of industries, at all levels.

Our client, located in Laverton North, is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter to help with their diverse fleet of cranes and equipment.

Client will allow 4 weeks notice, if required in current role.

It is not important if you have not worked on diesel engines before, however, this is desirable (agreed pay rate will reflect this), however, you will need to have a strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical diagnostics as well as strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to trouble shoot.

This will suit someone with crane or truck experience as well as someone who has worked on big equipment in the agricultural or mining industries.

HR licence, crane licence, riggers ticket and mig welding experience all highly desirable, but not essential.

There will also be a requirement to work Saturdays, on a rotational basis, so please bear in mind when applying.

The successful candidates will;

• Trades qualified as a diesel mechanic or mechanical fitter.

• Previous experience working with electrics and hydraulics (qualifications highly desirable).

• Must have electrical diagnostics experience and can read schematics

• Must be physically fit (full medical will be conducted)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices.

• Team orientated with a desire for the team to achieve as a whole.

Hours

• Normal business hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3.30pm (and generous overtime every week!!)
