Suitable for someone with trade skills in either carpentry or building background, our maintenance person is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, service repair and refurbishment of all fittings, fixtures, furniture and plant across our family of over ten hospitality businesses in the CBD.
Based at our main site at 159-161 Spring Street, you are responsible for completing all programmed maintenance in the businesses, as well as working with operational venue staff and public area cleaners to promptly address and repair any maintenance and safety issues.
By using both our onsite work shop and tool facilities, as well as scheduling contractors to complete more detailed works, the role would suit someone who is organised, motivated and shows initiative in their work. Above all, they take pride in doing things properly and are focused on maintaining the appearance and successful functioning of these beautiful, busy Melbourne spaces.
A usual working week is based around Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, as well as early mornings and/or overnights, as required based on programmed maintenance or works needing to be completed around the business' main hours of operations. With several of the premises trading 24 hours, the need to complete works with minimal disruption to both staff and business operations is extremely important.
Maintenance of basic fittings and fixtures
- Working with cleaning staff and operational managers to turn around maintenance and facility work quickly
- Emergency service doors, lighting and exits
- Plumbing, ice machines, glasswashers, hot water units, toilets
- Cleaning of gutters, drainage & rooftop servicing
- Painting
- Basic lighting and electrical works on appliances and machinery
- Refurbishing timber furniture, tables, floorboards, panelling and cabinetry
- Programmed maintenance and interim servicing of all HVAC equipment, air conditioning
- Cleaning and maintenance of service laneway, loading docks and garbage areas
- Basic plumbing and toilet maintenance
- Air compressor to blow out servicing of plant and machinery
- Maintain equipment, supplies and stocktake of tools and materials in the workshop
