We are now looking to recruit exceptional talent to be part of creating this exciting new hotel experience.
OVERVIEW
The role of a QT Handyman is to support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the assets are well maintained and kept presentable at all times. The role is accountable for assisting in the compliance and preventative planning of all facilities to ensure local, state and federal legislation. The role is tasked with assisting in the day to day upkeep, repair and servicing of all hotel assets in order to maintain the 5 star design and standard of QT Melbourne. Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the new building requirements you will be expected to carry out and direct a wide range of handyman jobs throughout the hotel, including:
- Assist in ensuring all guest and staff maintenance requests are attended to efficiently, with minimal disturbance or impact to the day to day operations of the hotel
- To complete a wide range of handyperson/fix jobs throughout the hotel without supervision and with diligence
- To proactively identify property operating issues within venue's, back of house and front of house to resolve with a "hands on" attitude'
- To prioritize tasks in order to maximise productivity
- To liaise with all staff in order to gain information and execute the task effectively
- Aid in the development of system processes to ensure all departments comply with legal compliance including but not limited to emergency procedures, safety and security on site
- Ensure safety management is appropriately instituted to reduce the risk of accident or incident
- To utilise and maintain all equipment and machinery correctly and safely
- To support the Maintenance Manager in implementing best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Perform a daily walk through of all areas of the hotel inside and out to ensure that all plant and equipment is functioning and the hotel is maintained.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in multi-outlet operations
- A background in 5 star hotel environment preferable
- Qualifications or background in a trade such as electrician, painter or plumber
- Knowledge of safe OHS practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work, with well-rounded skill set
- Operates clean and orderly work area to be free from hazards
- The enthusiasm to be hands on and have a guest service orientated attitude at all times
- Possess a passion for high quality workmanship
- To be reliable, punctual and present well
