About the Role
Are you physically fit and enjoy working outdoors? Do you have an eye for detail? Do you have qualifications in Horticulture? Have experience in weed/pest management?
The Natural Resources Officer is to assist the Community and Recreation Operations in providing beneficial and cost efficient weed/pest management and biosecurity functions to the Local Government area of Dubbo Regional Council.
The successful applicant will be required to attend an intensive three day course on Biosecurity legislation.
Key areas of accountability for this position include:
- Assist in providing weed and pest species management
- Maintain Council’s Parks and Landcare assets
- Respond to public enquiries, complaints and requests
- Assist the Team Leader with coordination of worksite activities
Essential Selection Criteria
- Certificate III in weed or natural resource management field or working towards
- Demonstrated experience in the management of general Biosecurity duty
- Demonstrated high level communication, inter-personal and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in writing reports and collecting evidence for presentation to courts of law in NSW in regard to Biosecurity matter
Desirable Selection Criteria
- Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management
- Ability to coordinate and conduct volunteer activities when required

Salary: $54,844-$63,738 per annum plus superannuation and an industry allowance
