Role
We’re seeking a self-motivated and confident Maintenance Fitter and Turner to join our team at our Austral Bricks® office in Wollert, Victoria for our Night Shift position on a 4 on 4 off rotation roster. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing emergency, project and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Examine faulty machinery and equipment for defects;
• Remove and replace damaged parts;
• Order, install and test all new mechanical equipment;
• Use various hand tools to fit and assemble parts, which require knowledge of principles of mechanics;
• Ensure that plant mechanical assets are fully maintained to promote efficient operation of equipment;
• Complete planned, unplanned and requested maintenance tasks effectively;
• Performs fault-finding analysis and diagnosis of maintenance issues and undertake problem solving to resolve/repair issues to minimise impact on production;
• Liaise with management, supervisors, maintenance team and operators to resolve breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime;
• Ensure that all assigned duties and quality of work is in accordance with industry standards, legislation, codes of practice and company procedures and that documentation is completed and signed;
• Perform required visual checks and inspections of machinery as required;
• Conduct proactive breakdown analysis and identify problem areas of plant;
• Keep maintenance, down-time and quality records in accordance with company procedures and requirements;
• Ensure that all relevant information is entered into the MEX system;
• Complete any training deemed necessary by management to maintain or increase skill level and proficiency;
• Take every opportunity to gain additional skills and knowledge from maintenance contractors that may be used on site from time to time;
• Ensure understanding and compliance with all Environmental policy and procedures relevant to your work and;
• Assist and contribute to Operational Excellence initiatives.

Success Requirements
• Trade Certificate.
• Demonstrated sound mechanical aptitude.
• Perform problem solving and fault-finding activities to identify and resolve/ repair mechanical issues/ breakdowns.
• Knowledge and experience using MEX system.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
