Our employer, a local Bricklayer is looking for a first, second or third year bricklayer to join their busy team.
As a Bricklayer, you will work on multiple job sites and learn to:
- Build floors, walls, frames and roofs
- Spread mortar to bind bricks and remove the excess
- Build in door and window frames
- Seal foundations to keep dampness under ground
- Work from plans and specifications
- Check if bricks and blocks are aligned and walls are flat and straight
- Construct arches and ornamental brickwork
- Cut and shape bricks (with brick-cutting machines and other tools), and erect scaffolding
To be successful you will:
- Enjoy working with your hands and whole body
- Be physically fit
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be able to show initiative and enthusiasm for the job at hand
- Have an eye for detail
Car & licence preferred (travelling to local job sites) and White Card is a must.
Junior position for under 21 (junior wages apply)
The successful applicant can be part way through their apprenticeship with experience in the trade or looking to begin their apprenticeship.
