The Job
Swick are currently seeking experienced Heavy Mechanical / Drill Fitters to join our Perth workshop at South Guildford. As a Mechanical Fitter at Swick, your main responsibility will be to rebuild Underground Diamond drill rigs and associated mechanical components
The Candidate
Working on our customised fleet you will be trade qualified, a good communicator and will have a high regard for safety. Your experience in unsupervised mechanical fault finding, breakdown repair and maintenance is essential to ensure your success in this role.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Heavy Mechanical/Diesel trade qualification or Certificate in Engineering - Mechanical
- Previous experience maintaining, rebuilding and assembling Boart Longyear or Atlas Copco Underground Diamond drill rigs
- Advanced hydraulic diagnostics & component rebuild experience such as hydraulic pumps, motors and cylinders
- Proven experience in mechanical component assembly such as gearboxes and drivelines
- LF Forklift licence
- Ability to pass a drug & alcohol and full pre-employment medical
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Senior First Aid Certificate
Desirable:
- Experience or working knowledge with electronic instrumentation and HMIs will be advantageous
- Experience working with low voltage electrical systems
- Machining qualification or experience (metal lathe, mill)
- Experience working in a project team workshop environment
