About the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide mechanical expertise to carry out planned and unplanned maintenance activities to the Citywide vehicle and equipment fleet.

About you:

  • Carry out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance activities on Citywide vehicles and equipment
  • Complete unplanned maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and address mechanical faults on a range of vehicles and equipment
  • Attend and carry out maintenance requirements for breakdowns and in-field maintenance tasks as required
  • Conduct basic electrical system tests to identify potential electric faults that require engagement of auto electrician to rectify
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to validate vehicle roadworthiness and safety
  • Identify vehicle/equipment parts required to complete maintenance activities and engage with workshop stores/administration to obtain parts
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed to relevant standards and ensure vehicles/equipment are fit for use and compliant to roadworthy standards
  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with Citywide HSE policy and procedures
  • Participate in promoting safety in the work place
  • Attend to workplace housekeeping so the work environment is safe and tidy

Required Skills:

  • Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic
  • Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics
  • Car licence
  • Heavy Vehicle licence (desirable)
  • Good communication skills
