ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
AST Industrial Services, a division of SGS, specialises in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical repair and refurbishment of machinery, cylinders, pumps and valves. Currently an opportunity has arisen for Machinist to join the team and hit the ground running.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for the machining of general products to the required specifications and standards. You will be responsible for:
- Machining parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines
- Carrying out machining as per engineering drawing and instruction
- Using the correct tooling and measurement equipment
- Understand and adhere to strict safety measures
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
You will bring to the role:
- Experience with the operation of manual metal working machinery
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. Certificate 3 in Engineering)
- A strong customer service orientation
- Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills
