7 DAYS ON / 7 DAYS OFF LIFESTYLE ROSTER.

We are Australia’s largest privately owned mining, construction and maintenance services company, working across the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors. We are delivering an existing contract at our Whyalla operations in regional South Australia.  Our scope includes ore excavation, drill and blast, haulage operations, plant feed and train loading.

Due to recent growth in the project scope, BGC Contracting now have an opportunity for an experienced Tyre Fitter to join our South Australia Operations.

Reporting to our Workshop Supervisor, our Tyre Fitters will be responsible for safely completing a range of tyre related activities across our sites.     

Working in this diverse environment, with a strong Team culture committed to safety, you will be responsible for:

• Able to read and determine the correct tyre/wheel specifications for a specific application
• Removal, disassembly, assembly and fitting of tyre/wheel assemblies to all vehicles up to 63 inches in diameter
• Able to diagnose tyre and wheel related faults and perform in field maintenance
• Conduct periodic tyre pressure checks on all frontline mining equipment
• Conduct periodic tread depth measurements of all fleet tyres
• Safely operate forklift and tyre handling equipment
• Maintain all equipment to company and OEM specifications to ensure reliable operation
• Conduct workshop maintenance and maintain high housekeeping standards in work areas as directed
• Diagnose and repair tyres within a mining workshop and field environment
