Forest Coach Lines is a long established local bus operator based in Terrey Hills. We are seeking a qualified heavy vehicle mechanic to join our maintenance team or a light vehicle mechanic looking to upgrade. Prior bus experience highly regarded but not essential. You will be joining a small but highly experienced and dedicated workshop team. We are committed to ongoing staff training and development.
To attract top-quality candidates, we are offering above award hourly rate. Overtime available in line with business requirements. Generous on-call allowance available, depending on your home address (proximity to work) and availability. Work clothing provided and laundered free of charge. Safety boots and all PPE supplied. Tool allowance paid.
Key responsibilities include; -
- Service, maintain and repair Forest Coach Lines fleet of 145 buses
- Prepare vehicles for inspection by Roads and Maritime Services
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Ensure that all Forest Coach Lines vehicles are presented professionally for in-service use
Key requirements; -
- Trade qualified - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, but will consider experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic looking to up-skill
- Current drivers licence. MR/HR preferred but we can assist in obtaining a MR licence
- Basic computer literacy required. We will provide training on vehicle diagnostic systems
- Ability to work as part of a small team
- Ability to work unsupervised, show initiative and self-motivation
- An understanding of the operational nature of the business and the requirement to meet deadlines to ensure fleet availability
- Effective communication skills at all levels

Hourly rate $34 - $36 per hour full-time for the right candidate. Negotiable based on qualifications.
