Our client specialises in managing all aspects of terminal activities for our customers ranging from the storage and handling of bulk liquid fuels to maintenance and engineering services
We are seeking hard working individuals who aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty, someone who has a challenging mind and ability to learn and grow. This casual position will involve shift work, including night and weekend work. One or two shifts (8 to 12 hours) per month to start with.
Terminal Operator - 2 casual position
- Facilitate the Discharge products from ships to identified tanks
- Conduct on site water drains
- Monitoring of pipeline transfers and shipping discharges
- Assist with the shipping documentation pre and post shipping
- Checking and preparing tanks to accept, store and discharge product
- Ensure that the work area at the wharf and terminal is maintained in a clean and orderly manner
- Prepare, fill and complete IBC/ISO's according to client product requirements
- Fill Trucks through a manual gantry
- Clean operational areas according to daily checklist
- Carry out required environmental checks
- Assist truck drivers in loading product
- Carry out dewatering of bunds when required
- Discharge water after storms in compliance with environmental requirements
- Oversee dipping and sampling of new product in tanks and sign off
- Checking and monitoring tank levels
- Oversee loading of tank trucks in the loading gantry
- Attend planned maintenance / address unplanned maintenance (e.g. breakdowns)
The ideal person
- The ideal person for this role will be someone who has a flexible work schedule as they will be placed on call and asked to work on demand.
- Has a positive "Can do" attitude and enjoys working as part of a high performance team.
- Mechanical aptitude, basic computer literacy, high attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Your industry experience in Shipping, Marine cargo, Trades would be highly regarded but not essential.
