Job tasks and responsibilities

• Produce quality machined products using a CNC Router and Edge-bander that adheres to quality control/assurance policies & procedures

• Coordination of workflow within the work area in collaboration with factory Supervisors

• Attend to cleaning & maintenance of machining plant & equipment including fault-finding

Other Responsibilities

• Provision of on-the-job training for lower levels in the operation of CNC and Edge Banding machines including Workplace Health & Safety

• Undertake performance management reviews for employees in the machining area

• Work in a safe manner so as not to injure themselves or other employees and is able to identify hazards and unsafe work practices

• Responsible for identifying and solving problems which occur in both the work process and in the machining area

Skills and experience

Abilities:

• Ability to set up, adjust, drive and operate machines to produce a specific product

• Ability to select suitable methods for completing tasks and  coordinate workflow to complete them

• Ability to utilise basic IT programs relevant to machining such as Alpha-cam, internal production database and Google Docs

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of saws, machinery and equipment used at this level

• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures appropriate to this level

• Knowledge of the industry standards for tasks performed at this level

The position is 38 hrs/wk, 8am - 4.30pm Mon-Fri plus reasonable overtime (2hrs). The position may require some occasional overtime on a Saturday.  Wage is negotiable, commensurate with experience.
