About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Information Skills Specialist to join our growing organisation. Within this post you will play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Library & Learning Resources within GSM London. These include both physical and online resources such as library spaces, print and electronic collections, information skills support and academic liaison. This position will contribute to the provision of services to support teaching, learning and research, including the design, delivery and integration of information literacy competencies across academic programmes and coordination of other relevant library instruction initiatives. The post is expected to work closely with other Library & Learning Resources staff, faculty representatives and other professional departments to ensure that services meet the needs of students and staff across the college.

What we’re looking for

To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified in a relevant discipline or possess equivalent experience, and demonstrate experience within a similar role in an academic or specialised library service. You will possess superior customer service and communication skills, initiative and have the ability to be planned and organised in a busy environment.  In addition, you will demonstrate a clear understanding of information literacy and digital pedagogies within higher education, and knowledge of best practice delivery models for face-to-face and online learning. Your experience in delivery of user education, including instructional activities, learning objectives and assessment will be highly regarded.

Please note: This role may require occasional flexibility in working hours in order to deliver information workshops, or during peak times and times of need in order to support the opening hours of our Library Services which operate from 8.30 am – 9.00 pm Monday to Friday and on occasional weekends.
