The Cellular Genetics Programme is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join the wet lab side of their newly formed Scientific Support Team. This role would lead a small team of research assistants to support the Programme from an operational and sample logistics side, by tracking and monitoring progress of samples through our internal pipelines, as well as carrying out basic experimental processes. The successful individual will have excellent communication and organisation skills, as they will be expected to maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders whilst managing complex and competing priorities.

Essential Skills

  •  Degree, preferably in biological subject or equivalent experience
  •  High level of computer literacy. Excellent knowledge of Excel
  •  Good organisation & adaptability to regularly changing priorities & workloads
  •  Effective communication skills
  •  Extensive experience of a variety of molecular biology techniques
  •  Ability to follow instructions accurately, efficiently & to work without supervision
  •  To work with a degree of autonomy within area of responsibility
  •  Good manual dexterity & attention to detail
  •  Line management experience &/or significant supervisory experience

Ideal Skills

  • Scientific understanding of genetic analysis
  • Awareness of cost constraints and budget process
