Your expertise in sociolinguistics and discourse studies will be welcome in our thriving school with its academically rewarding, encouraging and enlivening environment. Your teaching and research will embrace interdisciplinary approaches to language analysis, focusing primarily on political discourse analysis, in relation to class, race, conflict, nationalism and populism.
You will be based on with our Falmer campus community where you will contribute to the department’s growing interdisciplinary work in discourse studies. A completed doctorate in either English language or Linguistics is essential, as is experience at least to undergraduate level and high quality research publications in the area of discourse studies demonstrating the ability to achieve high research standard and potential to build impact.
