Detail information about job Lecturer in Water and Environmental Engineering. Terms and conditions vacancy

As a result of our growing strengths and successes, the Queen’s School of Engineering (Civil, Aerospace and Mechanical) is seeking to make an appointment to the position of Lecturer in Water and Environmental Engineering.

This is a fixed term position for four years, in the first instance, with the possibility of further extension and follows the award of an EPSRC Fellowship. We especially welcome applications from candidates with expertise in in the wider research area of groundwater, including those with a focus on groundwater modelling, on groundwater management or on integrated surface-groundwater interactions.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research, knowledge transfer and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are seeking a candidate with international leadership potential to complement existing strengths in water research.

The water and environmental engineering research group is an internationally leading group in hydrological research, including catchment hydrology, hydrologic modelling, radar hydrology and hydroinformatics, systems methods for environmental modelling, new sensors for soil moisture measurement and natural hazards assessment. Recent research funding has been received from NERC, EPSRC and EU sources. The group is part of a centre for doctoral training (CDT) on Water Informatics: Science and Engineering called WISE (www.wisecdt.org) and is currently involved in several NERC projects related to different aspects of water resources and natural hazards.

The closing time for applications is 11:59pm.

Shortlisting will take place in the week beginning 18th September 2017.

Interviews are expected to be held in the week beginning 2nd October 2017.
