A Graduate Ambassador (Widening Participation and Student Recruitment) is required at the University of Exeter. The role involve delivering presentations and workshops in schools and colleges, the management of incoming visits and on-campus events, and representing the University at UCAS Exhibitions and Careers Fairs. This role will be full-time until September 2018 and is part of the Graduate Business Partnership scheme.

The Student Recruitment Office is responsible for both direct recruitment activity, such as organising open days and promoting the university to prospective students, and the widening participation agenda. Through our activities we aim to build effective relationships with schools and colleges to encourage students to progress to higher education in general and to Exeter in particular. Our work targets schools and colleges across the southwest and beyond. We deliver a range of activities and events designed to raise awareness of the opportunities that Exeter has to offer, as well as raising aspirations to higher education, in keeping with the University’s ongoing commitment to widening participation and fair access

The successful candidates will work across both direct recruitment and widening participation activities and will be expected to undertake frequent travel both within and beyond the south west region. 

We are looking for a lively and enthusiastic graduate who can demonstrate an ability to work across a range of different projects whilst prioritising and managing time effectively. The appointee will often be in contact with prospective students, parents and teachers, and will therefore need to have a good knowledge of the issues surrounding progression to HE, a comprehensive knowledge of the undergraduate provision at Exeter, excellent communication skills, and be friendly, professional and customer-focused. The successful candidate will be an effective team member with a friendly, open and helpful demeanour and a positive approach to change and a willingness to adapt. Candidates should also be able to drive and be willing to travel extensively within the southwest and nationally. We also require a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and are looking for a candidate with the proven ability to plan and deliver events.
