An opportunity has arisen for a graduate in Clinical Neurosciences (or related specialty) to work as a Research Assistant on an innovative medical neurotechnology project, starting September 2017.

The project involves development and testing of NOAH: Neurological Observations Assistant in Healthcare. This is a system of wearable-movement sensors that together with an artificial-intelligence model can automatically signal and predict changes in neurological well-being e.g. sudden deterioration due to new stroke. The system has been developed by Imperial College computer scientists but needs training and validation by a researcher with an interest in clinical testing.

Priority will be given to candidates with experience in healthy-subject or patient testing in neurosciences e.g. MSc graduates; and those with Good Clinical Practice certification. Training in neurological assessment relevant to the project will be provided.

The project is a collaboration between Brain Sciences (Paul Bentley) and Bioengineering (Aldo Faisal), and is funded by BRC for 1 year in the first instance.

Extension funding, for a further 2 years will be applied for, to enable the project to count towards a PhD.
